We are now developing the main gardens. You name it, we need it. Here are some ways that you can help:

$25 Become a grazer: Help stock our kitchen garden where every Friday four classes plant, nurture, harvest, taste, and learn about fresh food.

$50 Be a social climber: Contribute toward monkey bars, play structures, and council circles in the new playground.

$100 Urban planner: Become a card-carrying member of the group unpaving paradise one school at a time.

$300 Explorer: Show inner city kids the world. Three hundred dollars sends 70 inner-city kids on a field trip. So far in 2005-6, we have sent 1,100 kids on their first trip to a farmers' market. Planned future trips include nature walks in Los Angeles National Forest with forager Christopher Nyerges and trips to the Arboretum of Los Angeles County to identify the same species of mature specimen trees soon to go on the campus as saplings and calculate their growth rate, shade and cooling properties.

$500 Become an urban forester: Plant a tree with a class.

$1,000 Go native: Contribute to our 1/4 acre California native garden that teaches history, ecology, and conservation.

$2,000 Join the Good Dirt Club. Pay to work. Come tour the school then muck around with our Friday classes.

$5,000 Join the Good Food Club. Have chef Nancy Silverton cook for you.
