Save the date for GSF's Harvest Moon fundraiser on October 18th!

We’re already looking forward to Harvest Moon '15, the Garden School's annual benefit and garden-inspired dinner! Save the date for an afternoon of garden-festivities, a chef-curated locavore banquet, amazing music and more, coming right up on October 18th.

The key to a great party is delicious food and our amazing restaurant partners made it an event to remember, exceeding the expectations of the most discerning foodies in attendance with a wide range of inspired and creative dishes.

At our Harvest Moon Celebration last year, party-goers were treated to seasonal dishes and farm-fresh fare, as well as tasty coffees and juices by our amazing restaurant partners: Heirloom LA, Clementine, Sqirl, Loteria Grill, Little Doms, G&B Coffee, The Standard, Hollywood, Press Brothers Juicery and Tacos Punta Cabras! Each dish was inspired by the bounty of the harvest, integrating garden-fresh ingredients like fresh, tangy strawberries and savory squash. Chefs were welcoming and informative and guests returned for a second, and then a third serving of dishes like cauliflower ceviche, squid ink pasta, or strawberry sorbet with whipped cream and walnut brittle.

As they ate, revelers were treated to live music by Fernando Pullum and his young, talented musicians, who blew the crowd away with their raw talent and incredible energy.

The stars of the show were the seed-to-table students themselves! Our special kiddie-guests treated us to a garden-rendition of the song “Apples and Bananas” and helped out with garden activities and the live auction. Cute as rollie-pollies on a log!

Crafty DIYers among us were in for a real delight as our own Laila Tamburini, Garden Manager-Extraordinaire, taught us how to create natural dyes from products from the garden. Guests each got to dye their own piece of lace with gorgeous colors made from black beans, sunflowers, pomegranates and other garden produce.

We were incredibly thankful for our sponsors, Jolly Llama Creations and the Stewart and Lynda Resnick Foundation, and also to Jess Koehler of Jess Koehler Photography for her beautiful pictures that will allow us to relive this wonderful event again and again.

This year's event is set to be even more fabulous, and we hope you save the date for our garden-extravaganza on October 25th!
