How can you tell it’s fall in sunny LA? Here at the Garden School, our bountiful harvests of figs, apples, pears and pomegranates tip us off that summer is coming to an end. And we're getting ready to welcome our little gardeners and cooks into the garden for another school year- and that means a full schedule of fun Community Garden Days, of course!
Our Community Garden Days (formerly called workdays) are engaging days when we invite our entire community to our landmark garden to enjoy some fun in the sun, tackle some garden projects, snack on healthy munchies (read: TAMALES), get excited about food from seed-to-table through a cooking or gardening workshop, and appreciate our gorgeous garden and the great people around us. If that sounds like a good time, then pack up your dirtiest garden-garb, the biggest hat you can find, and come find us in the garden!
We’re happy to announce that our full schedule of Community Garden Days is here! We hope you can make it out to our first one, coming up on Saturday, September 19th. If you’re a garden newbie, please reach out to Shelby at Shelby@gardenschoolfoundation.org or (207)649-0998 before you visit the garden. An old regular? Just remember your closed-toed shoes, clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, sun-protection, water and snacks. We’ll see ya there!
Community Garden Days take place on Saturday from 9am-1pm. The '15/'16 dates will be:
Hope to see you in the garden soon!
